About the event
Do you know your pigeon from your wigeon?
We're teaming up with Bristol Ornithological Club to take a walk and see what birds also make their home in Bristol. This event is suitable for young people from any level of knowledge or experience! Come along and say hello, meet new people and learn a new skill. We will have some binoculars available but if you have your own bring them along.
We will meet at Grow Wilder, urban nature reserve, in North Bristol and make our way from here to Snuff Mills, along the river, taking in a stroll around Eastville Park and finishing back at Grow Wilder. These different habitats will allow us the chance to potentially see river birds, such as kingfishers and grey wagtails, park land birds like buzzards, gulls and corvids, and then back at Grow Wilder for garden birds, goldfinches, blue tits, long tailed tits and robins.
This event is part of our Youth Programme so we ask anyone attending to be between 14-25 years and to please have parental consent if under 18.
The session will take place outdoors so please dress warmly. Sturdy, appropriate footwear is also recommended.
