Help wildlife in your school grounds

Bringing wildlife to school grounds

Nature-rich school grounds are places where children and wildlife thrive together.

Our "Wildlife in School Grounds" information pack gives practical advice and ideas for managing school grounds for wildlife and inspiring young minds through hands-on outdoor learning. It has plenty of ‘quick wins’ as well as advice on longer term projects, and has ideas suitable for all schools, whether your school is a concrete jungle, or already teeming with life.

It was created by our learning team, with support from colleagues at Somerset, Hampshire & Isle of Wight and Yorkshire Wildlife Trusts, and was funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
