How we fundraise

Members

We encourage people to join Avon Wildlife Trust to help local wildlife to flourish and thrive.

There are individual, joint and family membership options available. Members receive our magazine twice a year and information about wildlife events  and volunteering opportunities happening throughout the year. Children will also receive their own Wildlife Watch magazines.

Why we need members

Our members are pivotal to us achieving our goal of creating a wilder Avon, rich in wildlife where people of all ages can enjoy and benefit from nature. Their regular donations give us a source of reliable and predictable income, funding our reserves, safeguarding habitats and inspiring a new generation.

Together we can also speak up for Wildlife by seeking to influence local policy decisions that will have an impact on wildlife in our area. Many members will also go on to become volunteers giving their time to help us do even more for local wildlife.

How we recruit members

Whilst we continually encourage people to become members through our website, the majority of our recruitment comes from our team of part time face-to-face  fundraisers who work at retail outlets, local events and shows. In doing so, we ensure that we comply with the professional standards required by the Fundraising Regulator and our own standards which go above and beyond this. Our fundraisers are also independently checked by the Institute of Fundraising throughout the year.
