About the event
Would you like to do something positive for nature with your community? Would you like support to help make your vision a reality? Whether you're a fully-fledged group or just starting out, the Wildlife Champions Project is a free training programme and peer support network that's here to help you and your community bring more nature into your neighbourhood.
Join us for a Wildlife Champions Taster Morning, to find out more about Avon Wildlife Trust's Wildlife Champions Programme 2026-2027. You'll get to meet existing Wildlife Champions, Avon Wildlife Trust staff, and other people interested in becoming champions and joining the programme.
We will meet in the canvas at Grow Wilder, where we'll get to chat and get to know each other over tea, biscuits, and bird song. You'll also have a chance to wander around and enjoy Grow Wilder, which is teeming with wildlife!
Over the past few years years, we have been supporting Wildlife Champions across the Avon region to create their vision for nature where they live, including setting up and running community gardens, nature festivals, community nature reserves, litter picks, guided walks, foraging and cooking events, and much much more! You can find out more about these residents and the inspiring things they’ve been doing here Wildlife Champions | Avon Wildlife Trust.
With thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund we’re continuing the programme until 2028. For the 2026-2027 programme, we are initially looking for Wildlife Champions in BS1, BS4, BS8, BS10, BS15, BS30, BS32, BS34 and BS37 (more updates on postcodes to come).
