Naomi Wilkinson launches new nature film in Bristol

Bristol-born Countryfile and CBBC presenter, Naomi Wilkinson, returned to her home city last week to launch Avon Wildlife Trust’s new short film on children and young people connecting with the nature around them.

After the screening of the film at Clifton Observatory, packed with wildlife supporters, Naomi shared her childhood memories of connecting with nature – her parents are both passionate about wildlife and were volunteers at the Avon Wildlife Trust when she was growing up.

Naomi Wilkinson hosted a panel discussion about creating more opportunities for outdoor learning for Avon’s children and young people to build nature connection and improve wellbeing. On the panel were Ian Barrett Avon Wildlife Trust Chief Executive; Sue Waite Research Fellow at the University of Plymouth; Cat Perrott – a 16-year-old who volunteers with the Trust and recently attended a parliamentary event for young people on the environment; and Nathan Rutter, Avon Wildlife Trust trustee and science teacher at Bristol Brunel Academy.
