About the event

The wonderful and weird world of fungi is one of nature's most diverse - with over 15,000 species found in the UK alone! Autumn is when fungi numbers really boom - colder temperatures and extra rain are a fungi's idea of paradise - so it's the best time to join us in finding these bizarre, brilliant organisms!

Guided by Ecologist Poppy Mynard and Youth Officer Connor Meadows, you'll walk from Grow Wilder across to Stoke Park, through woodland and grassland, to discover the interesting array of fungi species which are around! Poppy will be on-hand to share her knowledge, help with IDing species and talk about why fungi are such an important part of the natural world! The walk will then circle round and come to an end back at Grow Wilder where we started.

Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes suitable for the weather.

This event is part of our Youth Programme and aimed at anyone between 14 and 25, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend as well! This event is suitable for young people from any level of knowledge or experience! Come along and say hello, meet new people and learn a new skill.
