2021 and beyond ...
We have great plans for the future with the launch of our new 10-year strategy just around the corner. We will only be able to achieve our ambitious vision for local people and wildlife with the support of passionate people like you.
Our vision
We want to see nature recovering on a grand scale across Avon and everyone in our community to be able to enjoy wildlife on their doorstep.
Our mission
We will enable the recovery of wildlife by managing our land and working in partnership to restore, create and connect habitats to increase species abundance. We will inspire and support people to connect with nature and take action for wildlife where they are.
Our goals
We have great ambition for what we want to achieve across Avon by 2030.
30% of land managed for the benefit of wildlife
We need to make more space for nature to thrive to give our struggling wildlife the chance to recover and restore a diverse range of beautiful wild places. By the end of the year, we aim to have a pipeline of projects to restore and secure new habitats across Avon.
1 in 4 people taking action for wildlife
The science shows that if just one person in every four takes action for wildlife, it can be enough to change the minds and behaviour of the majority which will help to put nature into recovery.
1,000 hectares of habitat restored to provide nature-based solutions
We want to restore and create good quality habitat to soak up carbon from the atmosphere to help tackle the climate crisis and promote an abundance of biodiversity across Avon’s landscape.
Help us secure 30% of land and sea for wildlife by 2030
Grow Wilder Engagement Hub
Our mission now for Grow Wilder is to bring about urgent action for the restoration of wildlife by educating, upskilling and empowering people, communities and businesses to bring about positive change through wildlife-friendly gardening and sustainable food growing. We hope this will be the first of many new spaces to connect local communities to nature and inspire 1 in 4 people to take immediate action to reverse catastrophic declines in wildlife.
