About the event
An illustrated talk by Alison Morgan.
Alison and Bob Medland tell us how, in 2012, Great White Egrets bred for the first time in the UK on Somerset's Avalon Marshes. A colour ringing programme was launched in 2016. Since then Somerset juveniles have been resighted all over the country and in recent years have begun to establish new breeding colonies far from their home region.
In this fully illustrated talk Alison and Bob will explain what we are learning about this species as it continues its rapid colonisation of the country.
