Connecting with Nature at Wildlife Watch Clubs

Here at the Avon Wildlife Trust, players of the Peoples Postcode Lottery have helped us to connect more and more children with the wonders of wildlife in their local area. With their generous help, we have created positive impacts in local communities by setting up a number of Wildlife Watch Clubs for families to explore and enjoy. These clubs have directly linked children aged 5-10 years old with enthusiasm, understanding and appreciation for local nature. From the habits of our feathered friends, learning about insects, to the wonders of pond life, this nature club is perfect for the budding nature-lover.

Why nature matters to me:

"It makes me feel really calm."

"All the bad things from my day escape my mind."

We Love Lola's Nature Artwork & Attitude

Lola has created this beautiful artwork to show what she loves about Wildlife Watch Club at Grow Wilder.

She has developed a love, appreciation and interest in wildlife.

In her spare time, she has planted wildflowers, picked up litter and has encouraged reduced plastic use at home. These are amazing skills to develop and have motivated a future interest in living and working sustainably with a love and appreciation for nature.
