About the event

Have you ever thought that moths are just drab butterflies? That the only thing they do is eat holes in your clothes? This 2-part crash course in moths will prove you wrong! Join Avon Wildlife Trust's Youth Officers online to learn about moths and how to set out a moth trap and then come along to Grow Wilder the following day to see what the trap has captured.

Part one: online, Friday 26th June 6:00pm-7:00pm:

Learn all about the marvellous variety of moths you might find in the UK, how they're different from butterflies and why they're so important to our UK habitats. Tish and Connor will also show you how to put out a moth trap and discuss why we use moth traps and what they can tell us.

Part two: in-person at Grow Wilder, Saturday 27th June 9:00am-10:30am:

Come along to Grow Wilder to help unload the moth trap that was set the night before and see how many moths were caught. Get an up-close look at some amazing moths and hone your skills by identifying the species we find!

This event is part of our Youth Programme and aimed at anyone between 14 and 25 but parents and siblings are also welcome to attend!

This event will take place at Grow Wilder and is suitable for young people from any level of knowledge or experience! Come along and say hello, meet new people and learn a new skill.
