This is an online session via Teams. An evening online session is also available on Weds 10th June.

Who is it for?

• People who are already on the community nature reserve journey or aspiring to set one up.
• Parish or Town Councils wanting to understand how community nature reserves can support their Local Nature and Climate Action Plans.
• People who want to be part of something meaningful and inspire their communities.

The creation of a peer learning network will be at the heart of the programme providing the platform for community members from different neighbourhoods to share practical experience, work through challenges and build confidence.

The session will be between 30-45mins with a short introduction and plenty of time to asks questions.

What is a community nature reserve?

They can exist anywhere! Community Nature Reserves include front and back gardens, open spaces, pockets of land, parks, or allotments  

The idea of a community nature reserve is to take an entire block of land with a mixture of dense housing, semi-green spaces and wilder places and not just declare it a nature reserve, but bring the community together to join up the green spaces and encourage greater wildlife friendliness.
