Holding a Community Event

If your group is community based and there are local green spaces involved, an event will bring your community together to appreciate and spend time in the green space. The more people use the space, the more likely they will want to protect it.

If the event is official and you publicly invite people, there are a few legal requirements to consider. See other pages about insurance and risk assessments. This is different according to your council authority. See the relevant links below.

Taking over Green Space in your Area

  • Have you got your eye on a patch of land in your area?
  • Do you think it would be a great space to grow some vegetables or herbs for the local community?
  • Do you want to turn it into a wildflower haven for bees and insects?
  • Do you think it needs a bench and a bit of a tidy-up?

Read how to achieve this.
