About the event

Join us at Grow Wilder to learn about foraging for, preparing and cooking with some of our most common and easily-identified ‘weeds’.

Led by forager and facilitator Charlotte Grant, this 1-day course will guide you through using nettles, dandelions and other common, seasonal plants in foods such as stews, salads, pestos and ferments.

This course is ideal for those with an interest in foraging or seasonal food, but no previous experience is necessary - the day will focus on basic recipes which will give you the confidence to repeat and experiment at home.

This is a practical course, and you will prepare a range of foods both to eat fresh at lunchtime and to take home with you.

We’ll also discuss how to identify suitable sites for foraging ingredients and how to do so in a responsible and sustainable manner.

There is one discounted place available on this course for those on a reduced income. Please contact learning@avonwildlifetrust.org.uk for more information.

About your tutor:

Charlotte started her business Hedgerow Drinks 12 years ago. Born out of a passion for foraging and seasonal ingredients, she now takes her pop-up bar all over the country to various festivals and events and serve up our foraged drinks creations.

She has been foraging myself for many years and is a strong advocate for eradicating the barriers to entry for people to start foraging - there is no need for it to be intimidating or complicated; some of our most common plants - or ‘weeds’ - are edible and delicious!
