Wild Days 15 - 21 (15th – 21st June)

 

After Work Wild Walk - Southcot Burial Ground

  • Date: Thursday 15th June
  • Time: 5:30pm
  • Location: Meeting at Bath Spa train station

Take the chance to explore the outdoors and enjoy some nature therapy after work by taking a stroll and discovering more about Bath. This is a mini adventure, great for those wanting to be back on a train before 7pm, prefer a shorter walk or want to see a special place usually hidden behind lock and key. Southcot Burial Ground is a Museum of Bath Architecture site just across the river, an escape from city life in just a few footsteps. Everyone is welcome to pop into the Bath Brew House afterwards for a pint (50p per pint goes directly to supporting nature!)


'A Plastic Ocean' Film Screening

  • Date: Friday 16th June
  • Time: 6:45pm - 9:30pm
  • Location: Keynsham Community Space, BS31 1HA

Come and see this epic adventure documentary that tells the story of a documentary filmmaker and a world record free-diver as they travel the earth discovering the shocking impact plastic is having on our oceans and the marine animals that live there. 

Featuring Sir David Attenborough and world renowned oceanographer, Dr. Sylvia Earle. 


Festival of Nature - Keynsham

The Festival of Nature has been running since 2003 and is the UK’s biggest free celebration of the natural world. This year creativity, imagination and innovation will bring the wild to life. Nature-lovers of all ages will find something to satisfy their curiosity, as we unearth wildlife secrets. There will be interactive activities and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Wild Net-Walk

  • Date: Wednesday 21st June

  • Location: The Square, Temple Quay

Take part in our Wildlife Walk for businesses around Temple Quay - get some fresh air, connect with nature and network with professionals in your area. The walk starts at 12.30 and will last approximately 45 minutes.


Avon Gorge Boat Trip

Bristol Ferry Company will donate £1 per ticket to Avon Wildlife Trust. So why not take an afternoon boat trip, sip on a chilled beverage, enjoy the views and support Avon's wildlife! 

 

Wild Days 22 - 29 (22nd - 29th June)

 

After Work Wild Walk - Alexandra Park

  • Location: Meeting at Bath Spa train station

Take the chance to explore the outdoors and enjoy some nature therapy after work by taking a stroll and discovering more about Bath. This time we will be heading up, up, up (very gently) to the finest views over Bath from Alexandra Park. We will be joined by Collin, Chair of the Friends of Group who will fill our heads with stories of the parks history as we seek of the local wildlife including superb views of the Peregrine's hunting ground. Everyone is welcome to pop into the Bath Brew House afterwards for a pint (50p per pint goes directly to supporting nature!)

Bristol Ferry Company will donate £1 per ticket to Avon Wildlife Trust. So why not enjoy an evening boat trip, sip on a cool berarge, listen to some live Swing/Jazz/Blues/Rock, enjoy the views and support Avon's wildlife! 


Bath BioBlitz

There will be interactive activities and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

This final walk takes us back to Smallcombe in case you missed it the first time around. It always has something new to offer and is such a specail spot we thought it worth a second visit. Everyone is welcome to pop into the Bath Brew House afterwards for a pint (50p per pint goes directly to supporting nature!). On this walk we will be exploring the hidden haven that is Smallcombe Cemetry and will be joined by Marion and Alan, brilliant natutalists from Bath Naturalists Society who work with the Friends of Smallcombe Cemetry Group. Be prepeared to see 'something you have never seen before'!

Wild Picnic

Join us to celebrate the start of #30DaysWild with a picnic in the park, with FREE activities such as: wild art, minibeast hunting, bird watching, being a pond detective and more. Bring your sandwiches, picnic rug, friends and family. Everyone is welcome!

This second walk will take in the River and Canal where we might glimpse a Kingfisher. We will be joined by Cleo, River Avon Project Coordinator who will guide us round the beautiful waterways of central Bath. Everyone is welcome to pop into the Bath Brew House afterwards for a pint (50p per pint goes directly to supporting nature!)

Kidical Mass Cycle

Set up by Zoe Banks, Kidical Mass is a safe and FUN bike ride for kids, kids at heart, and their families. All types of bikes, trailers, trail-a-bikes, longtails, Long Johns, tandems, folders, trikes, and whatever rolls are welcome! Come hoot it up with us! (More details to follow).
