Avon Wildlife Trust offers a wide-ranging
environmental education programme throughout the year,
which includes the following:
Courses for adults and families
An exciting new range of courses from Bush Craft to Jewellery to the wonders of Folly Woods is now available at the The Trust's new Folly Farm Centre
Folly Farm Schools Programme
A team of experienced environmental
educators welcome your group for a magical, fun and inspiring
visit to Folly Farm. We hope to provide exciting and
memorable experiences for all ages and abilities, with
challenging, hands-on activities that aim to boost confidence,
social skills and passion for discovery.
A visit to Folly Farm can link with
the science, geography, art, history and sustainability
schemes of work in the curriculum for all ages, from
Teddy Bears Picnics and day visits to residential Earth
Education Programmes. Folly Farm can also be used as
a study centre for GCSE, A’level and university fieldwork. For more information go to Education at Folly Farm Centre.
School Grounds Project
The Trust can provide practical help
and advice to schools wanting to improve their grounds
for wildlife and people, for example through habitat
creation and management. The whole school community is
involved at all stages of the project, from planning
to implementation. Other services on offer include environmental
activity days, visits to local nature reserves and INSET
courses. See here for further details.
Community
People and Wildlife This exciting new project has been
funded by Heritage Lottery Fund to inspire and encourage
a wider section of the local community in the Bristol
and Bath area to take action for wildlife. We aim to
work closely with far more people to forge a lifelong
connection with their environment, through a wide programme
of activities, local volunteering, and on-line participation.
We're launching our activities in late autumn 2009, so
