  Volunteers - Rob Cousins

The best way you can give your support and help local wildlife is by becoming a member of Avon Wildlife Trust.

As part of the national partnership of 47 county Wildlife Trusts we work to protect local wildlife for future generations to enjoy. Join us and add your voice to our growing membership - and discover your own connection to the natural world on your doorstep.

Appeals

The Trust is entirely reliant on the generosity of its members, supporters and funders to carry out its work for wildlife. Through our fundraising appeals in the past we have secured funding to buy nature reserves such as Prior's Wood and to restore Folly Farm. We're now asking for help to purchase a tractor, which will transform the way we work on our nature reserves - can you help?

A gift in will

We believe that it is important to leave a thriving natural world for future generations to enjoy.

Leaving a legacy to Avon Wildlife Trust, no matter how big or small, will help ensure that our children and grandchildren can experience the wonders of nature - and create their own, special memories of the natural world.

Employee Action Days for local companies

Avon Wildlife Trust currently does not have any funded projects which enable us to offer free corporate volunteering.

Instead we offer Employee Action Days, charged conservation practical days. The team will work together to make a difference for wildlife at one of Avon Wildlife Trusts nature reserves. All tasks will offer the group an interactive way of making a positive and practical difference to local wildlife.

To plan, organise and run a practical day for your team with a dedicated leader we charge £500 for a team of 10. We can work with up to 30 people, with one leader to each team of 10. The fee covers health and safety assessment, administration and planning, tools and equipment, insurance and staff supervision. Tasks are planned to suit the season and the management plan for a particular nature reserve, in consultation with you.

Autumn/Winter is an especially important time for conservation work, being outside the general breeding season and when plants and animals are dormant. This means we can carryout essential tasks on habitats such as coppicing, hedgelaying and more with minimal disturbance to  wildlife.

For further information please download the information pack here.

To book a day or if you have any extra questions, get in touch with Sarah van der Meer (Volunteering Officer) by email, sarahvandermeer@avonwildlifetrust.org.uk or by phone 0117 9177277.
