Private or communal gardens and forgotten corners of land can be transformed into wonderful places for wildlife and people to enjoy. You could create a pond for frogs, plant a flower border for butterflies and bees, plant hedges and put up nest boxes for birds. All of this is easy to do and even if you just have room for a window box you can make a real difference for wildlife. Visit our Wild Gardens pages for advice and inspiration.

If you have your eye on transforming a derelict corner of ground, some shared gardens or part of your local park for wildlife, email people@avonwildlifetrust.org.uk for some expert advice. We may be able to provide volunteers and even some funding to help make a real difference in your area. Conditions apply as this work is part of our Heritage Lottery funded People and Wildlife project.

  Community Spaces
Not everyone has access to their own gardens but you can help wildlife thrive by transforming community spaces or forgotten areas of land. This year we are especially focusing on Filton, Hartcliffe, Lawrence Hill, Midsomer Norton, Weston, Withywood and Yate, but we will provide practical advice in other areas if we can. If you  have a wild idea for your area please email us at people@avonwildlifetrust.org.uk
