Trust Chief Executive Bevis Watts' Cycling Challenge for Bristol 2015

Wednesday 29th April 2015

To celebrate Bristol’s year as European Green Capital in 2015, Trust Chief Executive Bevis Watts will be cycling from Brussels to Bristol in early June, accompanying the European Commission on their journey.

Bevis and the European Commission team will be cycling 550km over five gruelling days; taking in as much of the glorious countryside and wildlife along the way as they can.

Avon Wildlife trust are hoping to raise £2,015 to support the work being carried out as part of Bristol's year as European Green Capital – including the distribution of thousands of wildlife garden starter kits to residents and businesses, the creation of city-wide wildlife corridors, and the opening of our new nature reserve along the Portway; one of the main commuter routes into the city.

Bevis said, "My training is already well underway! You may see me out and about across the city, as I steadily increase the milage before June. We are using this opportunity to raise funds for the Trust during this important year, so if you can spare any money to help us reach out £2015 target, this will be go towards our ambitious plans for the year, including our vision to turn Bristol into a nature reserve, as part of our My Wild City campaign".
