Wildlife Photographer of the Year Wildlife Photographer of the Year

The world renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is once again returning to Bristol and will be open to visitors until 23 February.

The touring exhibition, displayed at M Shed in Bristol, is sponsored locally by Edge Tax Consultancy, with Avon Wildlife Trust as Wildlife Partner.

Visitors can encounter the rich array of life on our planet with this touring exhibition from the Natural History Museum. Now in its 49th year, the competition provides a global showcase of extraordinary images celebrating the drama, beauty and splendour of the natural world around us with astonishing, creative and sometimes humorous wildlife photography.

The annual competition is owned by two UK institutions - the Natural History Museum and BBC Worldwide. New for this year, the touring photography competition in Bristol will be complemented with a display - Bristol Wildlife - get wild about your city - celebrating the city's diverse and special wildlife and events including bird-box making with Avon Wildlife Trust and a tour with a former judge, and Trust Chair, Roz Kidman Cox.

The Trust's Chief Executive, Dr Bevis Watts, commented: "We hope this new combination of the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, a natural history exhibition and stories about local wildlife really inspires more people to learn about wildlife, take action to protect it and care about local conservation issues.

"Many will be amazed at how much rare wildlife and important natural habitats there are in our area. We hope Avon Wildlife Trust's involvement in this new partnership helps the most exceptional wildlife photographs from across the world to connect people to nature in their neighbourhood."
